Our volunteers play a major role in the success of Forge Fach Community Hub, offering an extra pair of helping hands and a new set of skills.
We value the contribution of each volunteers support, time and expertise. A little time can go a long way, so if you spot something which appeals to you, why not get in touch to see if you could help us out. We're always on a look out for brilliant, local volunteers.
Here are some ideas for where you could help out:
The Griddle Café Volunteer
Budding chefs and restauranteurs? Working at the friendly cafe is a great way to develop varied new skills, meet new people and take on an exciting challenge. Each role is tailored to your abilities, whether this be front of house, preparing veg, washing dishes or learning how to cook more complex meals and desserts.
Forge Fach Community Film Volunteer
Do you have an interest in films? We have various opportunities available for people to help us run our Community Film iniative which we offer to marginalised groups. Whether this is being part of the planning process or taking a more 'hands on' approach, we have a role for everyone.
This will enable you to gain valuable experience in cinematic programming, customer service or financial planning and monitoring. Please see our 'Legal Stuff and Downloads' section for more details.
Cycle Scheme Volunteer
The Forge Ahead Cycle Scheme provides adapted cycles for people with disabilities or for those who may have lost the confidence to ride ordinary two wheeled cycles due to age or frailty.
Our cycle scheme offers people who aren't able to ride a bike the chance to get out, enjoy the countryside and experience some joy and freedom whilst doing something they enjoy. You will also have the chance to gain accredited qualifications in cycle maintenance and deliver training to other users.
Do you enjoy lots of variety and meeting plenty of new faces? Why not assist at our reception and meet and greet the users of the Hub. You will also get involved in booking rooms, events and classes, handling enquiries and directing people around the Centre. This is a lovely way to make new friends, build your confidence and learn a wide variety of new skills.
Grounds Maintenance Volunteer
As a Grounds Maintenance Volunteer, you will take care of the lawns, hedges, fencing and general tidiness of all outside areas. Training and equipment will be provided to all volunteers.
